Rock Bottom is Pretty Awkward

So um…like twice a year when I’m between paychecks I have to scramble around my Turkish apartment turning over couch cushions and collecting up random currencies to pay the bills.

10 UK pounds from my trip to London two years ago? YES!
5 Euros from a friend’s wedding last year? SCORE!
80 bucks from the last time I was in the states? OH BOY!
4,500 Kenyan Shillings from November? Well maybe not…

I then have to take my sad, small currencies to the bank to deposit into my account and trade them in for liras. Everyone at the bank probably thinks I’m a crack addict with the sad crinkled bills I bring in from who knows where. I mean really: who trades in 5 euros?

Anyway I’m still 80 Turkish Lira short so if you wanna send over some Japanese Yen I sure could use it. I swear I get paid on Tuesday!

Until then I’m gonna go back to watching Jay-Z on Charlie Rose. SO GOOD! He’s amazing.
